Beauty and the Geek‘s Tamika Chesser Dismembered, Beheaded Partner in “Horrific” Murder, Police Say

More information is emerging about Tamika Chesser’s alleged crimes.

The Beauty and the Geek alum—who was originally not named by police—remains in custody in South Australia after allegedly murdering her partner Julian Story, police confirmed in a June 27 press release, sharing details about what they’ve labeled a “horrific crime.”

After responded to reports of a small fire June 19, they entered the property shared by Chesser, 34, and Story, 39, to find a “confronting scene,” the release noted, “as Julian’s body had been dismembered.”

“Julian’s head had been removed during the dismemberment,” police shared, “and, despite extensive searches, has not yet been located.”

The search remains their priority. “Recovering Julian’s head to return it to his family so they can have a peaceful outcome,” Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke said, per CBS News, “have a funeral, and lay him to rest, is a really important aspect for us.”

The release confirmed Chesser has been charged with murder and that they believe the crime was not a random incident. Police also called upon the local community for information, noting they believe Story was killed two days before he was found, sharing pictures and CCTV footage of Chesser around this time in the hopes of jogging people’s memories.

As Fielke said, “We know that Tamika did not drive a vehicle and regularly walked around the township of Port Lincoln.  We are appealing to anyone who can help us to identify Tamika’s movements to please contact police.”

He also spoke to the violent nature of the murder.

“All murders cause pain and grief for victims’ families and friends,” Fielke added. “The circumstances of this murder are particularly harrowing, confronting and distressing.  Major Crime detectives have spoken with Julian’s family who are devastated by his loss and also by the circumstances surrounding his death.”

He noted, “We are releasing the details of this horrific crime because it is vital for Julian’s family to peacefully lay him to rest.”

Story’s family thanked first responders and the police department for their “compassion and professionalism during this devastating time.”

“We are also deeply grateful to our family and friends and this extraordinary community whose kindness and support have helped carry us through,” the family shared in the press release. “Your prayers, presence, and quiet strength mean more than words can say.”

The family noted this would be their only statement and that all further inquiries should be directed to South Australian Police.

E! News previously reached out to police for comment and is attempting to locate a lawyer for Chesser.
