Kyle Stillie is rocking the boat.
After the Below Deck star shocked fans by seemingly hooking up with a charter guest in the Bravo series’ recently released season 12 trailer, the yachtie is breaking his silence on the controversy surrounding the scandalous incident.
“All I’ll say is I had a really good charter season,” the Deckhand exclusively told E! News with a smile ahead of the June 2 premiere. “Stay tuned and see what happens because I think you’ll be interested to see what the outcome of that was.”
As the trailer teased, Kyle gets a stern talking-to from Captain Kerry Titheradge over his late-night romp on the beach with the female vacationer.
“[Deckhand] Damo [Yorg] was a good mate and basically called me out like, ‘Look lad, you’re gonna have to go tell cap what’s going on, because it’s being talked about,” the Scotland native recounted. “That was a rough, rough conversation, especially that was the day after my birthday. So, hungover and having to go and have that conversation with cap wasn’t a good day.”
He added, “And it just it makes my day much worse after what he does, so it’s not something that I want to look back on fondly.”
While Kyle admitted he has some regrets following season 12, he isn’t apologizing for his alleged rule breaking.
“I don’t regret any of the actions that I took, but definitely my response to some situations,” he reflected. “It definitely made me grow as a person.”
So, did Kyle’s hookup lead to his firing by Capt. Kerry? He teased, “I’m surprised I made it to the end of the season.”
As for where he and his boss stand today after fallout from the incident, Kyle hopes Kerry still sees him in a decent light.
“I definitely tested Kerry this year in terms of socializing or fraternizing with the guests, if you want to put it that way,” he admitted. “We’ll see what he says, but I think I still hold the captain’s respect. At least I hope I do.”
