Beyoncé can get the world to stop in honor of her kids’ birthday.
The proof was in the crowd’s reaction during night four of the Cowboy Carter tour at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on June 12. Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s twins Rumi Carter and Sir Carter marked their 8th birthday on the day of her concert—and the singer made sure the audience showed them some love during her performance of “Protector.”
Beyoncé held Rumi close while she serenated her, before her oldest daughter Blue Ivy Carter, 13, joined them at the front of the stage. Honoring her kid’s special day, the “Dangerously in Love” singer told the crowd, “Everybody say happy birthday, Rumi.”
As the crowd repeated the phrase back, Rumi excitedly waved in their direction while her big sister sweetly touched her chin. Though he wasn’t on stage with his sisters, Beyoncé made sure her son felt the love telling the crowd, “Say happy birthday, Sir,” before adding, “I love you.”
Rumi and Blue have both been present on stage alongside their mother since the start of her tour. Indeed, fans have watched as Rumi has stolen the show with her emotional reactions during “Protector.”
As for Blue—who made her stage debut alongside her mother during the Renaissance World Tour in 2022—she has become a principal dancer appearing on stage multiple times for the duration of the over three-hour show.
Beyoncé—who married Jay-Z in 2008—previously shared insight on life at home for the Carter family.
“Raising three kids isn’t easy. The older they get, the more they become their own individuals with unique needs, hobbies, and social lives,” the “Break My Soul” singer told GQ in 2024. “My twins are God-sent. Parenting constantly teaches you about yourself. It takes a lot of prayer and patience. I love it. It’s grounding and fulfilling.”
Another person who has had a first-hand look at Blue, Rumi and Sir’s talents? Their grandmother Tina Knowles, who recently praised her grandchildren.
“Oh, I’m so proud of Rumi,” the Matriarch author told E! News in March. “All of my grandchildren, all of them are amazing.”
