Bindi Irwin is trying not to get trapped among those thirsty for her brother Robert Irwin.
After Bindi’s 21-year-old brother participated in an underwear campaign and shared he’d be competing on Dancing With the Stars with a shirtless announcement, she admitted that it has become slightly uncomfortable to see all of the lustful posts about him online.
“There are some things as his sister that I can’t just unsee,” Bindi, 26, lamented to Kylie Kelce on the June 5 episode of Not Gonna Lie. “When he did the Dancing announcement, he was shirtless and when he did his Bonds commercial he was just in his underwear and it is…it is rough.”
And Bindi—who shares daughter Grace, 4, with husband Chandler Powell—admitted that it can be hard to support Robert when he’s amplifying his sex appeal.
“I really want to be supportive,” she laughed. “I really am so proud of him. He’s taking the message of conservation to new heights.”
Kylie agreed, adding, “He’s really nailing the, ‘Hey look over here,’ and steering them in the right direction.”
Bindi noted that while she has avoided the thirst traps, she has tried to show more public support for his posts about conservation.
“I was probably liking and commenting on his ‘steering in the other direction’ posts,” she admitted. “Rather than his…um.”
Still, Bindi admitted that it has been “cool” to see the way her brother has garnered so much attention so quickly, especially for their charity Wildlife Warriors.
“Watching him grab people’s attention in such a big way,” she explained. “And then pivot and say, ‘Here’s what we do, here’s our work, here’s our dedication to wildlife and conservation and you can get involved.’ It is wonderful and extraordinary to watch him shine.”
Indeed, Bindi called what Robert is doing “inspiring.”
“Do I get a little bit scared of the women and girls and some guys who are very intense? It can be a lot,” she joked. “But he’s doing really well with all of it and I am very proud of him.”
