Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman aren’t falling prey to sharing spoilers.
The Hunting Wives costars stepped out at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards in New York on Sept. 7, and the pair offered fans a cryptic hint about whether the Netflix series will be returning to a second season. (For every star who stepped out at the 2025 VMAs click here.)
“Listen, we’ll put it this way,” Malin exclusively told E! News on the red carpet. “We’ve heard a lot of positive feedback from the powers that be.”
Still, the 47-year-old—who plays socialite Margo Banks on the show—insisted that she wasn’t confirming or denying a second installment. As she quipped, “There’s nothing so don’t press.”
And while Brittany remained just as tight-lipped on returning to another go around, she shared that she’s still taken aback by the positive—and sometimes negative—response fans have had to the first season.
“You never really know when things are going to hit or not,” the Pitch Perfect alum told E! in the joint interview. “And with something like this, it was so polarizing because people either love it or hate it.”
Recalling that she was initially “hoping that people would just see it,” Brittany—who plays young mom Sophie on Hunting Wives—continued, “Now everyone is so opinionated about it, it makes me feel really happy, because people are talking about it.”
She added, “Sometimes, that’s all you can do—just hope that people care.”
And Malin echoed that sentiment, noting that the popularity of Hunting Wives—which is based on May Cobb‘s best-selling novel of the same name—has been a first for her.
“It’s never happened up until now, so this is always like the dream,” the 27 Dresses actress shared. “All of a sudden, when it kind of comes true, you go, ‘Wow, people are actually watching our show.’ It’s very exciting and very exhilarating. It’s a very like titillating time.”
Another fun part of working on Hunting Wives for Malin? Filming her steamy scenes with Brittany.
“We were just having so much fun with it,” she said of their characters’ onscreen romance. “We had a blast. We made it a little party. I don’t know if that was professional or not, but yeah, we made sure that we felt comfortable.”
