Cara Delevingne debuted her new hair transformation at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival May 21, proving that dark gothic locks will always be timeless.
While at the premiere of her new film The History of Sound, the 32-year-old—who’s known for her brownish blonde bob—turned heads with her jet-black hair. She elevated the cut with blunt bangs, her strands scrunched to give off that wet-hair look. Her new makeover paired well with her deep red ball gown, which she accessorized with minimal silver jewelry.
Cara also flaunted her Beetlejuice-inspired hairstyle on her Instagram Stories, where she posted a selfie of her in the car.
While her dark color is certainly a statement, the cut isn’t new territory for her. In fact, the last time she wore baby blunt bangs was in March 2023, when she attended the Parsons Benefit—an event that raises scholarship funds for students enrolled at the fashion design school—in New York, her hair shining in her signature blonde.
Still, her most memorable transformation came six months later, when she traded her shoulder-length bob for a vibrant mohawk at London Fashion Week. Cara left no color untouched: her bangs were dipped in pink and her crown was spiked in neon green. Meanwhile, the center of her head featured a technicolored leopard print design.
And for her, experimenting with her hair is all part of the fun.
“I love taking beauty risks,” she told Vogue in last September. “I feel like, in some ways, I’ve never grown up. I still love playing dress-up and exploring, whether that’s a character or gender, trying something on for a day can be fun.”
