‘Black Phone’ hopes to mark a fresh start for horror maestro Jason Blum, who has endured a rough time as of late.

The Warner Bros. movie is now in production.

Oscar nominee Angus MacLachlan finally got his acclaimed indie ‘A Little Prayer’ into theaters this past summer. But its bumpy road to release provides a painful case study in the tall hurdles faced by today’s indies.

The British actress also stood out in ‘Doctor Dolittle,’ ‘Walk, Don’t Run,’ ‘The Molly Maguires’ and ‘The Brood.’

The 18-year-old, who first caught audiences’ attention in 2021’s ‘The Black Phone,’ is not only returning to his breakout role in the new sequel but also showing another side of himself in the adaptation of the romantic drama ‘Regretting You.’

In a London Film Festival talk, he discussed how it’s harder to get films seen and why he was “really afraid” for his mother to see ‘Boyhood.’

“He was always thinking about the film and how we could make it better,” Ansari told THR when speaking about Rogen, whom he’s previously worked with in ‘Funny People,’ ‘Observe and Report’ and ‘This Is the End.’

Sutherland plays a washed-up action star who heads to England in director Chris Loggin’s feature.

Director Kristoffer Borgli is directing the movie for the leading specialty outfit alongside production banner Square Peg and Dilemma Films.
