The gunman who fatally shot a cop after opening fire on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters in Atlanta … reportedly had a beef with the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the New York Times … 30-year-old Patrick Joseph White believed he got sick after taking the COVID-19 shot and had an unhealthy fixation on the vaccine, prompting his dad to call authorities to report his son was suicidal.

CNN also cited sources who said the shooter may have targeted the CDC over personal health concerns he blamed on the COVID-19 vaccine.
Our law enforcement sources tell us police have been probing multiple theories and the investigation has evolved over time, highlighting they have not yet definitively ruled the COVID-19 theory is the motive.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigations noted the investigation will take an extended period of time.

As we reported … the shooting occurred at a CVS near the campus of Emory University. White is thought to have blown off rounds from the store — located in a busy shopping center near where some students live — in the direction of the CDC building.
He was found dead on the second floor of the CVS. Officials have not revealed if he was struck and killed by police bullets or if the gunshot wound on his body was self-inflicted.
A DeKalb County Police Department officer, David Rose, died from injuries sustained while responding to the incident, a press release from the department confirmed. He was a father of 2 with another on the way.
CDC Director Susan Monarez honored the fallen officer on social media Friday while thanking responding officers for their swift action. They confirmed White opened fire on “at least four CDC buildings.”
It added … “Our top priority is the safety and well-being of everyone at CDC. We are actively coordinating with federal, state, and local partners to fully investigate the shooter and this tragic crime.”
