Jenn Lagron is on a long road to recovery.
The hairstylist—who’s worked with stars like Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, Sinead Harnett and Chrissy Teigen—has suffered “devastating injuries” after she was hit by an alleged drunk driver in California on April 27.
The incident happened while Lagron was walking along Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Los Angeles, per The New York Post.
E! News has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for comment about the accident but has not yet heard back.
According to a GoFundMe page created by fellow hairstylist Brandon Pietsch, her multiple injuries include a “severely damaged arm” and a “fractured vertebrae in her neck.” Two days after the accident, Pietsch revealed that Lagron had surgery to heal those areas and a “damaged artery connected to her spinal cord,” and she’s anticipated to start physical therapy.
“We are so grateful for the success of both of her surgeries and are hopeful for a strong recovery ahead,” he wrote in an update on April 29. “She will be in a wheelchair for some time, as they had to replace nerves in her arm with nerves from her leg.”
While the operations went well, Pietsch noted his friend’s “road to recovery will be long and incredibly difficult.”
“Doctors anticipate at least a year of rehabilitation ahead, during which she will be unable to work or support herself,” he continued, adding that Lagron has “always been a light in the lives of everyone around her.” “We are raising funds to cover her extensive medical bills, physical therapy, rent, and daily living expenses so she can focus entirely on healing without the added burden of financial stress.”
Pietsch isn’t the only one in Lagron’s corner, as her client and fashion designer Kristin Juszczyk—married to San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, 34—also sent the hairstylist some love shortly after the accident.
“My girl @jennlagron was hit by a drunk driver last night,” the 31-year-old wrote on her Instagram Stories at the time, per Daily Mail. “Sick to my stomach. She is the most amazing person and incredibly talented hair artist. She’s going to have a long road to recovery, so truly anything will help.”
