Chase Stokes is stepping back out there.
The Outer Banks star made his first public appearance since his split from Kelsea Ballerini at a Malcolm Todd concert at The Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, South Carolina, Sept. 22.
Chase was joined by his Outer Banks costars Drew Starkey and Jonathan Daviss, as well as Drew’s sister Brooke Starkey, for the outing, per footage shared on social media. The tightknit crew took in the show from a balcony to the left of the stage, with Chase keeping a low-profile in a camo baseball hat that he paired with a long-sleeved stripe shirt and tan pants.
The 33-year-old’s appearance came less than two weeks after Kelsea’s rep confirmed to E! News Sept. 14 that she and Chase had broken up after nearly three years of dating.
The news came just two days after the actor paid tribute to his then-girlfriend to commemorate her 32nd birthday.
“Although you keep saying you’re not excited for 32, I’d say I’m lookin’ forward to more of this,” Chase wrote on his Sept. 12 Instagram post, which features a photo of the two relaxing courtside at a basketball game. “Happy birthday my love.”
While Kelsea—who was married to fellow country star Morgan Evans from 2017 until 2022—hasn’t personally spoken out about their split, she did post a cryptic TikTok addressing the constant speculation about her and her ex after she was spotted for the first time since their split Sept. 21 leaving a hair salon.
“CC: speculators, ‘sources’, and hidden cameras outside the hair salon,” the “Penthouse” singer captioned the Sept. 23 video. “Let us be. please.”
The clip was set to Ariana Grande‘s “Shut Up” and showed Kelsea putting her head in her hands and took a sip from an energy drink as the lyrics, “Maybe you should shut up,” played in the background.
While the pair was never shy about sharing their romance, Chase—who dated his Outer Banks costar Madelyn Cline prior to Kelsea—had also discussed that there were certain aspects of their relationship that he preferred to keep private.
“Sometimes it feels like maybe it’s an oversharing situation, or maybe there’s a lot of details,” he told E! News last September, “but I truthfully believe that my personal life is really, really private. For the most part, I still feel like I have a really good grasp on my privacy.”

Turning around to showcase her half-up, half-down hairstyle, she added, “We’ve got the hair clip, because we’re trying to be a cool girl.”
She continued speaking to an unnamed friend, explaining, “He’s picking me up and we’re going to a sushi place and I’ll call you tomorrow and for a full update.”
Taking a deep breath and raising one arm and finger in the air, she finally said, “I can do this. I can do this.”
And, after doing a little dance, she proclaimed, “It’s just a date. You just go and you just eat food and you talk about things that you do, OK?”
