Christina Haack’s household has done a major flip after her split from Josh Hall.
After the former couple filed for divorce last summer, the cameras began rolling for a new season of Christina on the Coast, and captured how she and her kids are doing since her third husband moved out.
During a conversation with her friend Cassie Schienle, the 41-year-old—who shares children Taylor, 14, Brayden, 9, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and Hudson, 5, with Ant Anstead—admitted that a “220 lb. weight” has been lifted.
“The house is so much better. The kids are so happy. Like, everyone in this household is thriving and the kids truly are doing great,” Christina said on the March 13 episode of Christina on the Coast. “Everyone’s just doing better since he’s gone. Just all that negative energy.”
TheFlip Off star said she made an effort to make her marriage work, but Josh, 44, wasn’t on the same page and his overall attitude took a toll on their relationship.
“I truly tried to make that work and tried to give him the self-help tools, tried to keep him busy and tried to say, ‘Why don’t we start flipping houses?’ and all those things,” she said. “No matter what, you can’t make someone else happy; they can only make themselves happy.”
For Christina, her biggest challenge with ending her relationship was having a third divorce.
“Three divorces?” the HGTV star, who was married to Tarek from 2009 to 2016 and Ant from 2018 to 2020, said. “Of course I didn’t want to get divorced for a third time.”
During their conversation, Cassie lovingly suggested that Christina—who debuted her relationship with Christopher Laroccain February—take a break when it comes to finding love and focus on her kids and work.
“For real, you have your beautiful children and a beautiful life and career,” she said. “Alright, let’s slow it down.”
Before ending their marriage, Josh—who split from Christina in July— was set to star alongside her, Tarek and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa on The Flip Off. According to Christina, the relationship became contentious between her and Josh, which led to tension while filming the show.
“He doesn’t like me,” Christina told Tarek on the Jan. 29 episode of The Flip Off. “He calls me cocky. He thinks I’m arrogant, when we both know I’m not cocky or arrogant and I just do work.”
Christina added that her children witnessed the behavior firsthand.
“The kids literally asked me to leave,” she recalled to Tarek. “They told me he’s not nice to me.”
And Christina’s decision to move on during the competition series without Josh ultimately worked in her favor.
“Josh was very hard to film with,” Christina told Us Weekly in January. “He didn’t get it. He’d always get upset with me, like ‘Oh, my gosh, you did this’ or ‘You did that.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m making a TV show.’”
“Ultimately,” she added, “it was better that he left after episode one because the show would’ve sucked.”

“Prayed for a man who was all man but still treated me like his queen,” Christina wrote on Instagram just a few days before news of her and Josh’s marriage broke. “Never give up.”

In April 2022, fans learned that Christina and Josh privately tied the knot. They then celebrated their union with a wedding in Hawaii that September.
“Shared vows in front of family and our close friends,” Christina wrote on Instagram Sept. 4. “Everything in life has led me to where I am right now, which is exactly where I want to be. My dream man on the dreamiest island. Maui holds a special place in my heart. What an amazing night filled with love.”
It would later be revealed that the two actually wed in October 2021.

The real estate agent celebrated the HGTV star’s birthday with a sweet tribute.
“Happy 40th Birthday to my absolute stunner of a wife!” he wrote on Instagram. “This woman has accomplished so much, inspired so many and continues to impress me daily. I can’t say enough about what an absolute force she is and what she is capable of. Christina is about to make her 40’s the best decade of her life and looking better than ever while doing it!I’m a lucky man and thank my lucky stars that she chose me to take this ride with her that is now our life. Ride or die baby, love you more than anything.”

Josh filed for divorce from Christina, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.
In her own filing, Christina cited the same reason but did not agree with Josh on their date of separation being July 8. She listed July 7 as their breakup date.
