There are plenty of fish in the sea, but Robert Irwin has a few requirements for his catch.
Amid his stint on the 34th season of Dancing With the Stars, the Aussie heartthrob confirmed he is still very much on the market, describing some qualities he’s hoping to find in his forever ballroom dance partner.
“I think more than anything else just genuine kindness,” he told E! News of his number one hope for a partner following the show’s Sept. 23 episode. “That’s so important, to surround yourself with people who are genuinely kind.” (For more with the cast, tune into E! Of course, Robert is also hoping for someone who can match his energy.
“My life is a whirlwind, it’s an adventure,” he continued. “I would love to be able to share that with someone and to share those little moments. I have a lot of great role models in the love department and a lot of people I look up to and go, ‘Wow couples goals.’ So I want to find that.”
Still, the 21-year-old isn’t going to force a connection.
“It’s something you kind of can’t rush,” he added. “It just has to happen and you’ve got to be open to that. I know she’s out there and I look forward to it.”
Plus, he’s not alone in his search. Robert’s dance partner Witney Carson—who shares two kids with husband Carson McAllister—joked that she and Robert’s older sister Bindi Irwin are ready to help him find his person.
“Submit your applications via DM and I will forward them to Bindi,” she explained. “And then, then we will see about the American tourist.”
To which Robert joked, “I’ve got another protective older sister now.”
But while Robert has protective Whitney in his corner, he’s previously admitted that Bindi—who shares daughter Grace, 4, with husband Chandler Powell—is more for risk taking, encouraging him to put himself out there.
“There’s always so many crazy things that happen,” Robert explained to E! News back in 2022. “So Bindi always says, ‘Robert, it’s your turn now. You gotta find someone to take the heat off me!’”
