Although the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum—who shares daughters Sami, 20, and Lola, 19, with ex Charlie Sheen, as well as daughter Eloise, 13, with husband Aaron Phypers—joined the adult platform OnlyFans alongside her eldest daughter, she confessed they have one strict boundary: No looking at each other’s content.
“No, that would be weird,” Sami told Peoplein an interview published Feb. 20, to which Denise added, “Yes, we draw a line there.”
But that rule doesn’t keep the mother-daughter duo from bonding over their shared experience. In fact, Denise, 54, ended up joining OnlyFans as a way to support Sami in the midst of online critics.
“When I saw that Sami was getting so much backlash, it really upset me as a mom and also as a woman in this [entertainment] business,” the Wild Things alum continued. “To be perceived as a sex symbol after doing photoshoots [for my movies]—and people can have their opinion about that—it bothered me that she was getting backlash for owning her sexuality and being a woman doing what she wanted to do. That’s why I joined it.”
Plus, as she later quipped, “It’s quite lucrative.”
As for why Sami began creating the risqué content when she was 18? She admitted it was for the rent money.
“I really wanted to get an apartment and I knew that working at the candy shop I was working at wasn’t going to cut it,” she said. “So I went to the next best thing and made an OnlyFans.”
She added of the experience, “It opened so many doors for me and I’ve met really cool people doing it. It’s been really nice and rewarding being my own boss and making my own hours and being able to do the things I’ve always wanted to do.”
And while it’s a conversation that bonds her with her mom, Sami isn’t thrilled with how quickly the Starship Troopers star copied her entrepreneurial spirit.
“I wish she’d waited a little bit,” she continued. “She started it right after I did, but it doesn’t bother me at all.”
