The internet’s most celebrated night is almost here.
Nominees for the 2025 Webby Awards—hosted by Ilana Glazer—have been revealed, and E! News’ digital team is up for an award in the Events & Live category. That’s right, the website was recognized for its livestream coverage of November’s Wicked premiere in Los Angeles, during which Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and more stars spoke to E! about the film’s major milestone.
“It’s a very supportive witch coven, I have to say,” Grande shared of the Glindas and Elphabas that came before them. “Every single one of our sister witches has been very, very, very supportive. We just feel so honored to be a part of this legacy and to be the ones in the movie. It’s such a sweet thing to share with them.”
E!’s Wicked coverage is nominated alongside Tom Brady‘s Patriots Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse: Through the Eyes of NASA, The Creator Classic and Claiming Your Space: A Celebration of Black Music at Juilliard.
Meanwhile, E!’s The Rundown was also named as an honorable mention in the Arts, Culture and Lifestyle social category.
All nominees are eligible to win The Webby Award—selected by the Academy—as well as The Webby People’s Voice Award—which fans can vote for online. Voting for The Webby People’s Voice Awards is open now at vote.webbyawards.com through April 17 at 11:59pm PDT.
Winners for the 29th Annual Webby Awards will be announced April 22, before Glazer hosts the ceremony in New York City on May 12, during which fans will be able to watch all the must-see moments on The Webby Awards’ social platforms.
“The Webby Awards have always been a barometer for digital progress, and this year’s Nominees reflect the deep connection between creativity and innovation,” Executive Director of Webby Media Group Jesse Feister said in an April 1 press release. “From visionary creators to the technologists building the tools and platforms behind them, these are the people and companies redefining how we connect, express, and experience life online.“
“As AI continues to transform the Internet,” Feister continued, “many of this year’s Nominees are not only pushing its creative potential, they’re helping shape its development in thoughtful and responsible ways.”
