ESPY Awards 2025: Lindsey Vonn’s Sister Rescues Her From Red Carpet Wardrobe Malfunction

Lindsey Vonn’s red carpet moment at the 2025 ESPYS nearly went downhill.

However, thanks to her sister Karin Kildow, who joined the skier at the July 16 event at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, the Olympian recovered from a sudden wardrobe malfunction.

For the event, Lindsey donned a maroon strapless Elisabetta Franchi dress that featured a torso-high slit, which exposed her left leg while cheekily hiding all but the hip of her strappy underwear. However, as the wind switched into sport mode, the opening of her dress flapped open, nearly revealing her undergarments.

Amid the madness, Karin was quick to swoop in and help the athlete—who was nominated for Best Comeback at the awards show—and prevented the mishap from becoming worse.

Despite the unexpected moment, Lindsey—who also presented the award for Best Play to Saquon Barkleyat the event—made sure to celebrate her game-winning style.

“Strong and feminine… Doesn’t have to be one or the other,” the 40-year-old captioned a photo of herself in the dress, as well as a second gown she wore later in the evening, on Instagram July 17. “We can be both. Just be you.”
