Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson were catching strays at the 2025 ESPY Awards.
The former NFL coach, 73, and his girlfriend, 24, found themselves the butt of the joke during part of comedian and ceremony host Shane Gillis’ opening monologue, calling out the May December nature of their romance.
“A bookie,” Shane said during his monologue, “is what Bill Belichick reads to his girlfriend before bedtime.”
The 37-year-old then proceeded to list the “books” the pair read, among them the “Very Horny Caterpillar, The Little Engine That Could But Needed a Pill First,” and, Shane’s favorite, “Goodnight Boobs.”
The ribbing, the comedian cautioned, was all meant to be in good fun.
“Also, I’m not trashing Bill Belichick,” he said. “First off, he’s 73-years-old and he’s dating a hot 24-year-old and people are criticizing him? What happened to this country? We used to be a great country.”
Shane continued, “He won six Super Bowls. Yeah, he’s dating a hot 24-year-old. Maybe if you guys won six Super Bowls.”
But this isn’t the first time the former Patriots coach and Jordon have garnered attention over their 48-year age gap. In fact, during the NFL Honors in February, host Snoop Dogg also took a jab at the couple.
“I’ve been a football fan for a long, long time. I mean, I remember back when the Cowboys was good,” Snoop began in his opening monologue. “I remember back when the Chiefs was bad.”
“And I remember,” the 53-year-old added, before trailing off. “What was it—Bill Belichick’s girlfriend wasn’t even born yet?”
The couple—who were present in the audience—took the joke in stride, with Bill cracking a smile and Jordon looking stunned before closing her eyes and laughing.
Similarly, after Jordon posted a photo on X from her and Bill’s March excursion to Florida in which he held her up “airplane” style on the beach, ESPN’s Mina Kimes promptly took aim.
While resharing the photo, the reporter wrote, “My 18 month old loves this game (we call it airplane).”
The post quickly became a favorite, racking up millions of views and many responses.
“Shockingly the gap between you and your child is still not as wide as Belichick and his Gf,” one user replied, while another wrote, “Crazy part is your daughter is only 38 years younger than you. Belichick’s girlfriend is 48 years younger than him.”
