This red carpet is a home run.
For the 2025 ESPYS at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles July 16, many of the world’s top athletes took the same field (carpet) in game-winning style.
Leading the squad was track and field athlete Gabby Thomas, who sported a white satin dress and strappy heels as she stood alongside fiancé Spencer McManes, who donned a gray suit.
WNBA star ChineyOgwumike dazzled in a purple strapless dress emblazoned with sparkly sequins, while Dancing With the Stars alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy rocked an all-black outfit, including a short-sleeved shirt, pants and boots.
Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles—who is nominated for multiple awards and will present an award herself—and her husband Jonathan Owens, a safety for the Chicago Bears, also vaulted onto the awards show’s red carpet in sparkling style.
Plus, Olympian Lindsey Vonn—who has come out of retirement with hopes to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan—skied her way into the evening wearing a wine-colored strapless dress before she was presenting an award during the night’s event.
This year’s festivities will be hosted by comedian Shane Gillis, who is “excited” to be the master of ceremonies, sharing in a June 24 statement to ESPN, “I like sports so this should be a good time.”
In addition to athletic prowess on display, the ESPYS have a star-studded lineup of presenters, including Oscar nominee Angela Bassett, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Brooks Nader and actress Alison Brie. Rapper Busta Rhymes will both present an award and perform during the show.
Throughout the night, audiences will discover if athletes like Caitlin Clark—who is nominated for two awards, including Best Record-Breaking Performance and Best WNBA Player—and Josh Allen—nominated for Best Athlete – Men’s Sports and Best NFL Player—will take home trophies.
Fans will also witness WNBA legend Diana Taurasi and soccer star Alex Morgan honored with the annual Icon Award, which will recognize “their incredible careers and significant impact on the world of sports,” according to an ESPN press release.
