French Montana is taking an unforgettable step forward in his relationship.
The “Unforgettable” rapper (real name Karim Kharbouch) is engaged to Dubai princess Sheikha Mahra Mohammed Rashed Al Maktoum, his rep confirmed to TMZ Aug. 27.
French, 40, popped the question to Sheikha Mahra, 31, during Paris Fashion Week in June, shortly after he walked the runway for the first time for the 3.Paradis Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2026 show, the rep told the outlet.
The couple was first linked back in October 2024, when the daughter of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum shared several photos of her giving the “Stay Schemin” MC a tour of the United Arab Emirates city. However, the pair didn’t go public with their romance until this summer, when they stepped out at several Paris Fashion Week events holding hands.
Sheikha Mahra was previously married to husband Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, though she announced their split in July 2024 through a scathing post on Instagram.
“Dear Husband,” the royal—who shares a 15-month-old daughter whose name has not been revealed publicly with Sheikh Mana—began the post. “As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, I Divorce You.”
She added, “Take care. Your ex-wife.”
The statement evoked similarities to the Islamic practice of “triple talaq,” which is a law practice allowing Muslim men to divorce their wives by simply saying it three times, according to the BBC.
And while Sheikha Mahra could not legally divorce her husband through this method—as only men are allowed to carry out the practice under Islamic law—she hinted that her marriage had officially come to an end the following month by posting a selfie to Instagram of her and her daughter with the caption, “Just the two of us.”
As for French—who’s previously been linked to Khloe Kardashian, Iggy Azalea and Rubi Rose—the rapper has yet to publicly address his engagement. However, he has previously provided insight into how he feels about dating someone who’s working through a divorce.
“It’s real emotional, it’s a sensitive space for them,” he told Elle in 2016. “It’s real s–t. But sometimes you have to sacrifice for what you want.”
