These stars are trading in the glamour of Sunset Blvd. for the bright lights of Broadway.
With the biggest on Broadway quickly approaching, Tony winners Sarah Paulson and Wendell Pierce announced the full list of nominees for the 2025 Tony Awards on May 1.
Among the 12 Broadway productions nominated for the awards, Buena Vista Social Club, Death Becomes Herand Maybe Happy Ending came out on top with 10 nods each.
As for individual nominees, George Clooney (Good Night, and Good Luck) and Daniel Dae Kim (Yellow Face) took their talents from the screen to the stage, earning themselves a spot among other talented performers in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play category.
And on the musical front, Glee’s Darren Criss (Maybe Happy Ending) and Jonathan Groff (Just in Time) are both in the running for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical.
Meanwhile, Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play has major competition with Sadie Sink (John Proctor is the Villain), Sarah Snook (The Picture of Dorian Gray) and Mia Farrow (The Roommate), Laura Donnelly (The Hills of California) and LaTanya Richardson Jackson (Purpose) all going head-to-head for the accolade.
Wicked star Cynthia Erivo will take the stage at New York’s Radio City Music Hall as the host of the 78th annual Tony Awards, which will take place on Sunday, June 8. Viewers can watch the ceremony live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
