Hailey Bieber is stepping up in her best look yet.
The Rhode Beauty founder stepped out at the Met Gala May 5 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the first time since 2022 wearing only a Saint Laurent mini dress blazer in an effortlessly chic way. She paired the simple cocktail dress-lengthed jacket with strappy platform heels, a watch by Audemars Piguet and silver Tiffany & Co jewelry.
As for her effortless curls? Those are thanks to hairstylist Bryce Scarlett and the help of Kerasilk products.
But while Hailey was not joined by husbandJustin Bieber—with whom she shares 9-month-old Jack—her solo look was bold enough to shut down the red carpet. (See who else attended here.)
Hailey’s grand return to the Costume Institute soiree marks her return after she broke her seven-year streak in 2023. Indeed, the 27-year-old had attended the Met Gala every year between her first appearance in 2015 until 2022, but opted to skip the last two years due to a Rhode product launch and her pregnancy with Jack.
Though Hailey had previously told fans she’d return for the 2024 Met Gala after missing the prior year, she ultimately opted to skip the evening to keep her pregnancy under wraps for a bit longer. Indeed, just three days after the big night Hailey and Justin revealed they were expecting little Jack, later welcoming him in August.
And while Hailey considered keeping her pregnancy hidden until the end, she ultimately decided to reveal her bump in adorable Instagram photos with Justin.
“I didn’t enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly,” Hailey admitted in an interview with W magazine last July. “I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn’t feel good. I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life.”
At the Met Gala, Hailey is certainly going out and living her life in a big way. But after giving birth to Jack, she has called motherhood the “wildest, coolest thing” she’s ever done—so certainly, going home to him and Justin beats this red carpet moment, no matter how big.
As she told Elle in October, “Welcoming my son into the world has obviously changed my whole life.”
