Halle Berry Shares How She “Manifested” Boyfriend Van Hunt

Halle Berry is on cloud nine with boyfriend Van Hunt.

And for that, the Catwoman actor thanked the power of spiritual connection for helping her secure this four-year romance.

“I manifested him,” Berry, 58, said in a Feb. 18 interview on TODAY with Jenna & Friends, noting her previous relationships helped her realize what she wanted in a partner. “Having gone through three divorces, I finally knew what wasn’t working and I realized I was always saying to the universe what I didn’t want. So guess what I did? I manifested what I didn’t want.”

Berry—who shares daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry, 16, with ex Gabriel Aubry and son Maceo-Robert Martinez, 10, with her third husband Olivier Martinez—had to stop that cycle in order to speak her dream romance into existence.

“I really had to change my thinking,” she said, “and instead of thinking of what I didn’t want, I had to get intentional with what I did want.”

In order for her manifestations to come true, she asked herself a series of important questions. “‘What was my perfect partner? What would he be [and] feel like?’” Berry, who was also previously married to Eric Benét and retired MLB player David Justice, explained. “‘What walk of life would he have come from? Who would he be? How would he treat me?’”

Those answers soon came to fruition in 2020, when Hunt “showed up” in Berry’s life. The duo became Instagram official in September of that year, and to celebrate their new relationship status, the John Wick actor posted a photo of her wearing a shirt with his name on it. Since then, the 54-year-old singer has honored his girlfriend in the sweetest ways, including being her personal photographer for Mother’s Day last year.

While Berry complimented him as the “perfect match” for her, she had a backup plan if her manifestation tactics didn’t work: to focus on her two kids.

“After three divorces, you kind of go, ‘I’m just going to be alone,’ and I was ready to do that. I was done,” Berry added. “I knew that if the right person didn’t show up for me, I’d be better off going at it alone. But this is the power of manifestation. We can manifest any reality we want.”
