Heather Rae El Moussa is open to returning to her reality TV roots.
In fact—following the cancelation of the star’s HGTV home renovation series with husband Tarek El MoussaThe Flipping El Moussas—Heather teased she might make an appearance on Selling Sunset‘s upcoming ninth season.
“I might make a cameo in this coming season,” Heather—who left the Netflix real estate reality show in 2023—told Us Weekly in an interview published July 31. “So, you have to stay tuned.”
“Let’s get the fans asking for it,” the 37-year-old jokingly added. “Maybe I’ll come back.”
However, Heather—who lives in Orange County with Tarek and their 17-month-old son Tristan—shot down speculation she could possibly join Netflix’s spinoff Selling the OC instead.
“If I was to ever go back, it would be with Selling Sunset,” she explained. “We were all an office and friends before Selling Sunset was even a show.”
And Heather’s personal relationships with the Los Angeles-based real estate team is what she misses most about appearing on the show, despite plenty of coworker drama aside.
“I have a rapport with them, I have loyalty with them and I have a lot of history with them,” she added. “So, if I want to go back, it would be Selling Sunset and not Selling the OC.”
But since the Selling Sunset cast has changed so much since her season six departure, Heather now feels more like a fan that a former costar.
“It’s almost not as difficult,” she noted. “Because I’m not part of it, I get to watch from the sidelines as a fan as opposed to being in it.”
As for her thoughts on The Flipping El Moussas possibly returning on another channel, Heather isn’t so sure she and Tarek—also dad to daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9, with ex Christina Haack—will be renovating more homes anytime soon.
“Anything could happen,” she told the outlet. “To be honest, it was a great show and it still is a great show. I know that the fans loved it, and Tarek and I really, really enjoyed filming that show. It’s definitely a challenging market right now—and with real estate in general.”

“It’s love week and we’re definitely feeling it over here,” Heather wrote on Instagram a day before Valentine’s Day 2023. “Lots and lots of kissing, snuggling, skin on skin, and holding our lover boy… we can’t get enough.”

According to the couple, Tristan was born on Jan. 31, 2023, at 6:55 a.m. PT. He arrived weighing 7 lbs., 7 oz.
