Hilaria Baldwin is detailing how motherhood transformed her body.
The Yoga Vida co-founder—who shares kids Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, María Lucía, 4, and Ilaria, 2, with husband Alec Baldwin—recently revealed she had a breast lift after having her seventh child in late 2022.
“Since I was breastfeeding for so long, it was one of these things I decided to do,” the 41-year-old said in the April 6 episode of The Baldwins. “I’ve been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for over a decade, and I think this is the first time that I’ve not been pregnant and/or breastfeeding since I’ve started having kids.”
According to Hilaria, she made this cosmetic decision after noticing a few changes in her body.
“It almost felt like my body wasn’t my body anymore, because I was so used to my body being a certain way,” she continued, before confirming the procedure helped her feel confident again. “It was just to make myself feel okay, and that’s okay.”
And while the Manual Not Included author is openly embracing her breast lift, she doesn’t want her kids to feel pressure to undergo plastic surgery to fit an unrealistic beauty standard.
“Anytime I do something in the realm of vanity, I don’t want them to feel that they have to be a certain way,” Hilaria added. “I want to try to protect Carmen because I’ve experienced a lot of self-doubt and listened to the criticism more than I should have.”
This isn’t the first time Hilaria has opened up about navigating motherhood, as she shared that she and Alec—also dad to Irene Baldwin, 29, with ex-wife Kim Basinger—always try to evenly distribute their time with their kids.
“Making sure my other babies feel they have mama time too,” Hilaria wrote in a September 2022 Instagram Story, shortly after having her youngest daughter Ilaria. “I am trying to balance [being a] new mom again, with breastfeeding, healing, and hustling to make sure all my children feel that I am there to be the best mama I can be.”
