Emilie Kiser is taking a step back.

While breaking her silence on the death of her and husband Brady Kiser’s 3-year-old son Trigg, the TikToker explained how she will be drawing firmer boundaries regarding what she shares online.

“When I started on social media in 2021 as a new mom, my goal was to connect with other moms and find a community,” Emilie—also mom to 5-month old son Theodore with Brady—wrote in an Aug. 28 Instagram post. “I have always been my authentic self on social media and tried my best to share my everyday life honestly, while also being mindful of what I didn’t choose to share.”

However, the loss of her eldest son showed Emilie that her “relationships online lack boundaries, especially in protecting children’s boundaries.”

“Moving forward I will be establishing more boundaries with what I share online,” Emilie added. “In the future, I hope to be in a place to share more about how I am navigating this grief, but right now all I can say is thank you for the love, compassion, patience and space you’ve given us to grieve. I am more grateful for it than can ever be expressed.”

Trigg died May 18 in the hospital after drowning in a pool at the family’s Chandler, Arizona home nearly a week prior. At the time of the tragic accident, court documents revealed, Emilie was out with friends, while Brady was watching their sons and lost sight of their toddler.

In her post, Emilie noted that “loss of this magnitude feels impossible” to express—and admitted she feels immense guilt for not doing more to protect her son.

“I take full accountability as Trigg’s mother,” she wrote. “I know I should have done more to protect him. One of the hardest lessons I carry is that a permanent pool fence could have saved his life, and it’s something I will never overlook again.”

The 26-year-old spoke on behalf of she and Brady, noting that they miss their little boy “every second of every day.”

“Trigg is our baby and our best friend,” she added. “The light and spirit he brought into this world was bright, pure, joyful, and undeniable.”
