Jason Kelce and father Ed Kelce are mourning a loss.
Less than a week after Ed’s girlfriend Maureen Maguire died at the age of 74, he was joined by the former Philadelphia Eagles center and his daughter-in-law Kylie Kelce as Maureen was laid to rest.
In photos published by TMZ. Aug. 7, Jason and Kylie—who share children Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, 4 months—looked somber while walking into Maureen’s funeral in Gladwyne, Penn.
Meanwhile, Ed served as one of the pallbearers as Maureen’s coffin made its way to the cemetery for the burial. Not pictured were Travis Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift.
Ed, 74, first shared the news of Maureen’s passing on Aug. 2, posting a link to her obituary on his Facebook page.
“Maureen found joy in life’s simple pleasures,” the obituary read. “She loved the beach—especially the shore—and had a deep affection for dogs.”
The remembrance also noted that Maureen—who shared three children with her late husband, as well as six grandchildren—“grew an unexpected love for football later in life, sharing many laughs and adventures with her beloved friend Ed Kelce and her loyal dog Butch.”
“Together, they traveled often and attended football games and concerts,” the obituary continued, “and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.”
The tribute added, “Her kindness, wit, and gentle strength left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Maureen’s presence was a gift, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends!”
Over the years Ed—who was previously married to Donna Kelce for 25 years—has been candid about his relationship with Maureen, even joking about the time she helped him remember who Taylor was.
“When Travis has a lot of friends coming into town to go to the game, everyone meets at his house, although he’s not there,” Ed explained on Audacy’s 92.3 The Fan in January 2024. “They have a shuttle that comes and picks everybody up and takes them to the game.”
He explained that Taylor walked in and although she looked familiar, he wasn’t able to place her, saying, “I mention to Maureen, ‘Oh, my God, I know this kid, but I don’t know what her name is.’”
Thankfully, she was able to let him know exactly who it was.
“‘You don’t know her?’” Ed recalled Maureen replying. “‘This is Taylor Swift, you idiot.’”
