Jon Batiste is getting in the driver’s seat with his latest partnership.
Amid his latest collaboration with the luxury SUV Infiniti QX80, the seven-time Grammy winner detailed why he feels so connected to the project, especially when it comes to date nights with wife of three yearsSuleika Jaouad.
“I was very excited thinking of a brand that’s about the same sort of precision and innovation that I’m about with my craft,” he explained to E! News’ Francesca Amiker in an exclusive interview. “There’s a depth of comfort when you sit in the passenger seat or you’re in the driver’s seat with somebody you love. It feels like a warm hug of just being in a car. I feel that energy.”
Indeed, the “Freedom” singer and his wife love to go on drives together to kick off their nights out. As he noted, “The vision of our collective experience together, a lot of it happens in the car.”
Jonemphasized that the QX80’s 24 speakers and “quality craftsmanship,” is a “perfect fit” for he and Suleika’s date night drives.
And now more than ever, date nights are extremely important for the 38-year-old in his wife, who he shared is “doing great” amid her battle with leukemia, a point in her journey that Jon deemed as “beautiful.”
“She’s been taking everything in stride,” he continued, “and gracefully dealing with all the things that are going on, as well as continuing in her creative process.”
Part of that creative process includes embarking on a tour alongside Jon. The couple are embarking on The Alchemy tour together in April, where they will spend five evenings in cities across the U.S. celebrating “storytelling, music and creativity.”
And for the “I Need You” musician, it is the perfect way to celebrate his wife’s latest health feat.
“After this crazy recurrence, it’s like, ‘Wow we’re in the best case scenario,” he added. “She’s feeling healthy, the treatment’s working and we’re very inspired.”

The two-time Oscar winner underwent successful treatment for cancer, and his rep confirmed to E! News that doctors deemed Hoffman “surgically cured.”
Hugh Jackman
The X-Men star was treated for his third basal cell carcinoma back in 2014, and after his third treatment, Jackman’s rep told E! News that he’s “all good” now.

Alongside a pair of photos that show a line of stitches running from the bottom of his ear to his jaw, which he later covered with a bandage, the British celebrity chef shared that he underwent a procedure to treat skin cancer.
“Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma,” Gordon wrote on Instagram August 2025. “Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend.”
