And that’s why Sophie Turner’s onscreen reunion with her Game of Thrones costar Kit Harington for their upcoming film The Dreadful was “really weird.” 

“I did a movie last year which I’m really excited about with my old—but very good friend—Kit Harington,” Sophie, 29, said in an interview with Vogue published July 16. “Who played my brother on Game of Thrones. And we’re doing a gothic horror, but we play lovers.”

“Sorry guys,” she continued. “It’s really weird for all of us.”

In the film, Sophie—who starred on Game of Thrones with Kit for eight seasons—plays Anne, a woman who lives a solitary life with her mother-in-law, whose life changes when a man from her past (Kit) returns.

Following the announcement of the film, Sophie reacted to the news of acting with Kit—married to fellow GOT alum Rose Leslie—again.

Alongside a screenshot of an article announcing the movie, the Joan actress wrote in a February 2024 Instagram post, “I mean we couldn’t NOT hang out again ya know #thedreadful.”

Sophie’s Game of Thrones days haven’t been far from her mind, despite the show ending six years ago. Indeed, Sophie—who shares kids Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2, with ex Joe Jonas—revealed that she learned a lot during her time on the series. Including how to navigate the birds and the bees.

“I definitely got my sex education from that show,” she joked to hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett during the July 8 episode of their Dish podcast. “More than enough.”

And though according to Sophie the series included some, “really crazy s–t,” it was a masterclass in acting when she started her career at 14 years old.

“It was the best acting class I’ve ever had,” she explained. “I never had proper formal training, so I got to learn from the amazing actors around me. I felt like I won a competition. It was great, we all were a family.”
