RebaMcEntire has found a love worth singing about.
After the country music legend confirmed in an exclusive interview with Live From E!: 2025 Emmys correspondent Zuri Hall at the 2025 Emmys that and Rex Linn are engaged, new details about the sweet proposal have come to light.
E! News has learned that Reba and Rex got engaged “a few months ago” and that “they are very happy” about taking the next step in their relationship.
The couple first met in the early ’90s, but started dating after reconnecting on Young Sheldon in January 2020. And even though their connection “was like a magnet,” due to COVID-era protocols they had to go another six months apart.
“We didn’t get to see each other from January ‘til June 16,” Reba explained to E! News last year, “but we created an intimacy by texting and talking over the telephone that we wouldn’t have gotten if we’d have been together all of that time.”
But, from there, the rest was history. As the Reba star shared, “We’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since June 16 of 2020.”
In hindsight, the 70-year-old is grateful that she and Rex, 68, were able to strike up a friendship before things turned romantic between them, especially because, as Reba said, people tend to “gravitate to the physical so quickly” in relationships.
“You know the ins and outs of their personality and their faults,” she explained. “You love them for the way they are, instead of it being a total attraction and sizing them up because of appearance.”
The twice divorced “I’m A Survivor” singer was also always clear that she was open to marriage if that’s what her Happy’s Place costar, who has never been married, wanted.
“I’m truly committed to Rex,” she explained to E!. “So if that’s something he feels totally strong about, that’s fine with me. He’s never been married before. So if he wants to experience that, I’m OK with that.”
