Ioan Gruffudd and Bianca Wallace have some fantastic news.
Just months after tying the knot, the couple announced that they’re expecting their first baby together. In a black-and-white photo posted to Instagram June 15, Ioan—who shares daughters Ella, 14, and Elsie, 10, with ex-wife Alice Evans—bends down to kiss Bianca’s burgeoning baby bump.
The joint Instagram post was captioned, “Baby Gruffudd poppin’ out to say hello!”
In the comments section, Bianca, 32, shared insight into her pregnancy journey, detailing her difficult first trimester. “NO! It has not been smooth, wtf is up with pregnancy?!” she wrote in response to a question about how it was going for her. “Why doesn’t anyone talk about how terrible it is in the first few months?! I am however in total and full remission and loving every single second of it.”
As for how the couple’s dog Bubba feels about being a big brother, the actress gushed, “Bubba knew immediately and he spends a lot of time sleeping with his head on my belly. Already the protector.”
Ioan, 51, and Bianca’s exciting news comes as the Fantastic Four actor remains in ongoing battles with Alice—with whom his divorce was finalized in 2023—over spousal support and custody of their two daughters following years of drama that played out in the press.
Alice, who met Ioan working on the 2000 movie 102 Dalmatians, first announced their shocking breakup in a January 2021 post on X (formerly Twitter) that she deleted soon after, writing that he “announced he is to leave his family, starting next week.”
“Me and our young daughters girls [sic] are very confused and sad,” she added at the time. “We haven’t been given a reason except that he ‘no longer loves me’. I’m so sorry.”
The following year, Alice requested primary legal and physical custody of their daughters—which she was granted that same month—as well as spousal support. That same month, Ioan filed for a domestic violence restraining order against his then-estranged wife, noting that if he “left her, she would make false public accusations about me, sell false stories about me to the press, and destroy me and my career.” He went on to allege that Alice threatened to tell people he abused her and their daughters as well as forge a diary that made him out to be a drug addict and abuser. However, she soon after filed a response that declared that “whatever allegations he is going to make against me are false.”
It was during that time that Ioan met Bianca. Three years after the couple started dating in 2021, the Bad Boys: Ride or Die actor proposed to Bianca in January 2024. The Australia native posted a photo of her engagement ring at the time, writing, “The most precious thing happened,” adding that Ioan’s proposal “was a super adorable shock.”
