Ozzy Osbourne’s loved ones are helping out with his latest tribute.
The late Prince of Darkness, who died July 22 at age 76, was honored at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards Sept. 7 with a performance by Aerosmith members Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, as well as Yungblud and Nuno Bettencourt.
Ahead of the greatest hits medley at the UBS Arena in New York City, Ozzy’s son Jack Osbourne and granddaughters Pearl, 13, Andy, 10, Minnie, 7, and Maple, 3, participated by filming a touching intro video.
“I wish we could be there with you all tonight as you celebrate my dad’s amazing musical journey,” Jack said while sitting alongside his daughters. “I know for sure it would make him incredibly happy to see these great musicians carry on his legacy and help inspire the next generation of rockers.”
In addition to thanking the tribute’s performers, he added, “We love you, dad.”
To conclude the video, Ozzy’s granddaughters signed off by shouting in unison, “In the words of our Papa, let’s go crazy!”
Along with Ozzy’s star-studded sendoff, the ceremony featured performances from the likes of Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat and Post Malone. Mariah Carey also delivered a medley of her biggest hits before receiving the Video Vanguard Award, while fellow performers Ricky Martin and Busta Rhymes were honored with the Latin Icon Award and the Rock the Bells Visionary Award, respectively.
In the weeks since the Black Sabbath frontman’s death, his family members have shared other touching tributes.
“He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him ‘Dad,’” Jack wrote in an Instagram post in August. “My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing.”
Jack’s sister Kelly Osbourne also detailed her grief in the wake of her father’s death, noting that although she would “not be OK for a while,” she found comfort in the outpouring of public support.
“Knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference,” the 40-year-old wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories. “I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.”
Kelly added, “Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain.”
