Jalen Hurts is scoring some style points at the 2025 Met Gala.
One week after he skipped the Philadelphia Eagles’ April 28 visit with President Donald Trump at the White House, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback hiked his way up the stairs of fashion’s biggest night with his new wife Bry Burrows.
The 26-year-old—who wed in a private ceremony last month—attended the event with Burberry and sported an all-black ensemble, featuring a velvet suit embellished with gems alongside the top. He accessorized the outfit with an elegant black beret and a Tiffany & Co. brooch on his tie. Meanwhile, Bry complemented his look in a maroon gown adorned with sequined designs and tassels. Two weeks before the Met Gala, Jalen was honored April 25 at the TIME100 Gala and made headlines with his awkward non-response when asked if he would be joining his team on their victory trip to the White House. On the day of the Eagles’ celebration with the president, just three days later, the White House confirmed to NBC News that Jalen was unable to attend due to “scheduling conflicts.”
Fortunately, no such conflicts prevented him from attending the Met Gala, where he scored another victory with his fashion game. In fact, the athlete has established himself as somewhat of a style icon in the sports world. To the Super Bowl in February—where his team defeated the Kansas City Chiefs—he donned an all-purple suit reminiscent of an onstage outfit that Princecould have worn, while the month before he rocked a black French beret with a khaki suit as he headed into the NFC Championship game.
But the University of Alabama alum wasn’t the only athlete that showed up to New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 5. In fact, in addition to musicians Pharrell Williams and A$AP Rocky and actor Colman Domingo, Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton was one of Anna Wintour’s co-chairs for the night. LeBron James, meanwhile, served as honorary co-chair.
Also in attendance at the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”-themed event Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson,WNBA player Angel Reese and gymnast Simone Biles, all of whom played a role on the night’s host committee.
