Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Teases Roommate’s Death in Season 2 Trailer

Watch:‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Trailer Teases Shocking Death

Class is back in session for Jenna Ortega.

The actress reprises the titular role in the second season of Wednesday as the iconic Addams family member heads back to Nevermore Academy. But all is not well at the Gothic boarding school, as Wednesday sees a vision of her roommate Enid (played by Emma Myers) meeting a chilling fate.

“Enid dies,” she tells her mother Morticia Addams (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones) in a trailer released July 9, “and it’s all my fault.”

And despite her stoic exterior, the teen makes it her mission to undo her friend’s impending demise.

“Secrets are the bedrock of the Addams family,” she said. “The sooner I get answers, the sooner I can save Enid—or die trying.”

Back in March, Jenna revealed that season two of the Netflix series contained “some of my favorite footage from the show,” teasing that the show’s executive producer Tim Burton “really had a ball.”

“Everything is very graphic,” she told E! News in March, adding, “It’s very exciting and inspiring to work with someone like that who gets you excited about the shots that you’re doing every day.”

After all, the Scream alum noted that focusing on one character for months at a time is “not always easy.”

“Sometimes it’s a crawl to the finish line,” she continued, “but he always keeps it exciting and it’s hard to get tired of a character like Wednesday.”

Adding to the excitement? Lady Gaga’s highly-anticipated guest appearance in the new season, which Luis Guzmán (a.k.a. Addams family patriarch Gomez Addams) described as “insane.”

“They kept me away from Lady Gaga because I’m such a fanboy,” he told E! News in May. “I’m happy she joined in with us and apparently she’s a huge fan of the show, so I love that she wanted to share her artistry with us.”
