Jennie Garth and ex-husband Peter Facinelli‘s daughter is embarking on a new saga.
After all, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum shared a glimpse into decorating Fiona Facinelli‘s freshman dorm room at Loyola Marymount University.
“I can’t believe this moment is finally here,” Jennie reflected in an Aug. 28 TikTok video. “I just couldn’t stop hugging her. Her first college dorm room. It definitely needed a little love.”
So, the 53-year-old and Fiona—who is studying psychology at the Los Angeles college—rearranged the desk and bed before doing some cleaning.
“Then came the fun part,” she explained as she tacked on floral, beachy and pink prints on bare walls. “They immediately brought the room to life. Next, we tackled the bed.”
The mother-daughter duo opted for a baby pink-striped comforter, white bedding and printed pillowcases. As Jennie—who also shares daughters Luca, 27, and Lola, 22, with the Twilight alum—explained, “Soft, cozy and such a simple way to make the space feel like home.”
She and Fiona finished off the room with a creamy white rug to “tie everything together.”
“Even the little touches made a difference,” she added. “It completely transformed the space, giving it a cozy, comfortable feel.”
With Jennie and Peter’s youngest beginning her college career, the What I Like About You star reflected on what she had picked up through parenthood.
“The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far, being your mom, is to trust you,” she told Fiona in a joint People interview in April, “and to not project my experience that I was having at her age onto her.”
Instead, she understood that her daughter had to “be her own person” and “figure some things out on her own.”
“It’s really hard to step back,” Jennie admitted, “but every time I step back, I see this beautiful young woman in front of me. I’m just so proud of her and so excited for her.”
