Jennifer Garner is saying yes to a new ‘do.
The actress, 53, recently updated her look by adding fresh blonde highlights to her signature shiny brown hair.
Indeed, the 30 Going on 30 star recently revealed the new style in a “May catch-up” Instagram post, which also included various photos, videos and memes summing up her month.
Celebrity hairstylist Tracey Cunningham then shared insight into the entire process behind Jennifer’s hair update, which included a side part with long bangs pushed to the right along with the blonde highlights across her head, explaining that the change is for the Yes Day star’s latest role.
“Lightened up this beauty’s hair for her latest role—and she’s glowing,” Tracey wrote in a June 15 Instagram post. “Jennifer’s just wrapped The Last Thing He Told Me (yes, Paris), and is already diving into The Five-Star Weekend—a dreamy Nantucket story coming soon to Peacock.”
She continued praising Jennifer—who shares Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13 with ex-husband Ben Affleck—adding, “Actress, producer, mama of three, founder of @onceuponafarm + @virtuelabs… and somehow still the kindest person in the room.”
Tracey also shared a video with how exactly she colored Jennifer’s hair, detailing the exact formula she used of Schwarzkopf Professional USA’s BLONDEME lightener, creating what she called in the video a “Ready for Summer Blonde.”
The Beverly Hills hairstylist’s comment section was filled with compliments, including from Dirty Dancing‘s Jennifer Grey who commented “Perfect” and actress Rita Wilson who commented “Gorgeousness!”
While Jennifer did undergo the transformation for her upcoming role, she recently spoke out about how she hasn’t focused too much on her appearance throughout her career.
“Part of the gift of being my mother’s daughter is that I haven’t spent a lot of time stressing about my physical appearance,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in an interview published June 6. “I don’t spend a lot of time in the mirror. Sometimes I could spend more time in the mirror; I’m sure I’ve had things in my teeth or a bump in my hair. So there are pluses and minuses to it.”
And although she noted, “I don’t judge whatever makes anyone look or feel their best,” she shared that rather than pursuing appearance-altering measures, she’s focused on remaining grateful to be able to live her best life at 53 years old.
“I don’t want to be younger,” she explained. “I’m very grateful to be exactly this age. I’m trying to soak it up. I feel like I’m living in my power. I’m living in my wisdom. I’m living in my joy and my capacity to do and get things done. So I’m just very aware of my luck and the grace that’s been shown to me.”
