Jessica Simpson is singing Jeremy Renner’s praises.
The “With You” singer—who first sparked romance rumors with the Hawkeye actor 15 years ago—gushed about his new book, just over a month after the two exchanged a few flirty comments on social media.
“I’m so deeply proud of my dear friend and perspective motivator, @jeremyrenner,” Jessica wrote on her Instagram Stories May 6, “for releasing his memoir, My Next Breath, with the world.”
“If the vulnerability and truth within his audiobook doesn’t make you cry,” she continued, “or inspire you to live your live to the fullest, you are not human!”
In March, the Dukes of Hazard actress—who announced her split from Eric Johnson in January after 10 years of marriage—commented a flame emoji under a video Jeremy posted of himself working out shirtless.
And if that wasn’t enough to get fans buzzing about a potential budding romance, Jeremy—who was most recently romantically linked to influencer Cassandra “CC” Mason—was not shy in congratulating his longtime friend on the release of her latest EP, Nashville Canyon, Part 1.
“#NashvilleCanyon is the result of learning to hear my heart again,” Jessica captioned a screenshot of the project at number one on iTunes that same month, “free from industry expectations. It’s about surrendering, letting my voice be my main guide, and trusting the journey ahead.”
In the comments, the Hurt Locker actor wrote a simple, “Congrats Jess !!!” alongside three clapping emojis and a fire emoji.
To rewind, the duo’s online banter comes over a decade after they reportedly hit it off at a party in March 2010. In fact, People had reported that “Jeremy spent the night hitting on Jessica like crazy.”
However, the Avengers star—who shares 12-year-old daughter Ava Berline Renner with ex Sonni Pacheco—denied that he was flirtatious toward her.
“Her hair stylist did my mom’s hair so we were talking about that,” Jeremy told Us Weekly at the time, “and then all of a sudden we’re dating!”
Even so, Jessica—who shares kids Maxwell, 13, Ace, 12, and Birdie, 6, with Eric—has recently expressed that she is not letting her past heartbreaks get in the way of finding new love.
“I’ve grown up so much. I can handle so much,” Jessica—who was also married to Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2006—reflected in a February interview with People. “Maybe I’m just meant to love a lot of people in my life.”

So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
Travis proposed to the “Enchanted” singer in August 2025 in the former’s backyard.
