Jessie J wants to make the world dance again.
In fact, the “Price Tag” singer—who shares son Sky Safir, 2, with boyfriend Chanan Safir Colman, 40—recently reminded fans of her notable mantra while addressing rumors that she’s expanding her family again.
After Jessie shared an Instagram photo dump on March 25, which included shots of her hanging out with Sky and playing the piano, fans speculated about whether she’s expecting her second child. A fan wrote in the comments, “I thought there was a baby on the way,” and several others agreed, with one particularly pointing out the singer’s selfie with her hand on her stomach.
“First pic…. Don’t you ever do this to me again,” the fan commented under the post. “I was in tears thinking about baby 2.”
However, the 36-year-old quickly denied the speculation and replied that she was focused on releasing new music, which she’s been teasing since last October.
At the time, Jessie—who hasn’t dropped a full project since her 2018 This Christmas Day album—shared a video on Instagram of her belting the lyrics to her unreleased ballad, “The Awards Goes To.”
“I wrote this song the day I fired my last (6th manager) 3 years ago for being uninterested in me and my career dreams,” The Voice UK alum wrote, adding she tried to release the emotional track when she was 6 months pregnant, but her former label denied it. “Even though this song is still not available to buy, I sing it because the clarity and strength it gives me has made me make some of the best decisions in my career and life to date.”
Jessie noted that while the “business side” of her music career has been rocky, she’s “manifesting” that the song (and her upcoming album) will be released sometime this year.
And when Jessie’s not writing raw lyrics, she’s praising her vulnerable journey to motherhood. Over a year after she revealed she suffered a miscarriage, the singer welcomed her son with Chanan in May 2023.
“A week ago my whole life changed,” she said on her Instagram Stories at the time. “My son entered this world and my heart grew twice the size. The feeling is indescribable. I am flying in love.”
