Jodie Turner-Smith Shares Cryptic Message After Joshua Jackson’s Custody Order Filing

Watch:Jodie Turner-Smith Shares Cryptic Post Amid Joshua Jackson Custody Battle

Jodie Turner-Smith is wary of who she can trust.

Three days after her ex-husband Joshua Jackson filed an emergency custody order modification against her, the Queen & Slim actress shared a cryptic warning on social media.

“Why don’t you like that person? They seem so nice,” a meme reposted to Jodie’s Instagram Stories June 2 read, alongside photos of various Disney villains. “You know who else seemed so nice?”

And though she didn’t name any names, the 38-year-old added, “Stay safe out there.”

Indeed, Jodie’s word of warning comes amid her ongoing custody issues with the Dawson’s Creek star—with whom she shares 5-year-old daughter Juno.

Joshua requested an emergency custody order modification on May 30, in which he alleged that Jodie enrolled Juno in a new school, which was outside of the agreed-upon 45-minute commute from his house, without his permission.

“Respondent respectfully requests orders ensuring that the minor child continues attending her present school for the next academic year 2025-2026,” the documents, obtained by E! News, read, “and for the parents’ joint consent to be required for any subsequent school change.”

For Jodie and Joshua—who finalized their divorce last month after four years of marriage—Juno’s education is a subject they disagree on. While the Doctor Odyssey actor prefers a traditional experience, he cited a text from Jodie presenting her belief that Juno’s education doesn’t “require a fixed location.”

“Even in the best case,” Joshua wrote in the document, citing his own experience with on-set tutors as a child actor, “it cannot begin to provide a child with the same nurturing and enrichment, peer relationships and social skills that a classroom and school community environment provides.”

Adding that Juno has been “flourishing” at her current school, the 46-year-old went on to express his concern that the Anne Boleyn star “is attempting to create a scenario where Juno travels with her rather than attending a traditional school.”

Because upon finalizing their divorce just a few weeks prior, they had agreed upon “joint legal and physical custody to the parties with equal timeshares.”

Joshua has opened up previously about his role as a dad to daughter Juno.

“It’s my job,” Joshua said during an April episode of Jesse Tyler Ferguson‘s Dinner’s on Me podcast, “shared with my ex-wife, to do everything that we can to nurture you, cultivate you and give you all the tools that you need in life.”

“If I ever did anything to estrange my daughter from myself,” he continued, “I would be in duress. I actually can’t conceive of it because I don’t even wanna think of the pain that that would be.”
