Game, set, match.
John Cena and wife Shay Shariatzadeh made their love for one another known during a date to the Wimbledon tennis tournament in London July 2.
The couple—who got married in October 2020—packed on the PDA in the Royal Box at Centre Court, sharing a romantic kiss as they watched Carlos Alcaraz easily defeat Britain’s Oliver Tarvet in their second round match.
For the outing, Shay rocked a blue-and-white striped sleeveless dress and white flats, while John opted for a tan three-piece suit with a blue checkered jacket.
While the duo clearly enjoyed their time together as a couple, they also spent time mingling with a slew of other celebrities during their time at Wimbledon. They were photographed chatting with seatmates Olivia Rodrigo and her boyfriend Louis Partridge on one side, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl on the other and Olympic diver Tom Daly in front of them.
Additionally, John and Shay posed alongside his Heads of State costar Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas while at the grand slam event.
While the couple is famously private about their relationship, their latest outing reflects what the WWE icon recently shared about their approach to making public appearances together.
“We try to make a date out of all these things,” John told E! News at Amazon’s Upfront red carpet in May. “She’s here and we’re going to have some fun.”
The 48-year-old had previously explained why he’s so protective over his marriage with Shay, who is an engineer.
“I certainly value her safety and well-being,” John explained on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast in April 2024. “One of the promises I made to her on the altar was, ‘I will do my best not to put you in any undue harm’s way.’ It’s not to say that everyone out there has bad intentions or we’d ever run into someone bad, but you also never know when someone feels threatened.”
“If my wife, who is my travel partner and partner in life, now feels unsafe or uncomfortable in all these new places we go, I’ve got another hurdle to climb in my personal life,” he added at the time. “It’s just an exercise in the strength of boundaries and the value of boundaries.”
