Jon Gosselin is weighing in on his ex Kate Gosselin‘s love life.
While Kate has not publicly revealed her boyfriend of over a year’s identity, her former husband believes her mystery plus one is their family’s former bodyguard Steve Neild, who she denied having an affair with in 2009 amid cheating allegations.
“I told you all,” Jon wrote on Instagram Stories Sept. 24, sharing a screenshot of a Page Six article alleging that Steve is Kate’s mystery boyfriend, citing a source. “No one believed me—guess I was right!”
He added in an Instagram grid post, “Guess who really ruined the marriage.”
Collin Gosselin—one of Jon and Kate’s sextuplets who Kate has become estranged from in recent years—also alleged that Steve is the boyfriend in question and accused his mom of not being “truthful.”
“What really upsets me is that my mom had an affair with our bodyguard back in 2009, and for years would share hotel rooms with him while we went on family vacations, while I was in the connected room,” he wrote in a series of Instagram Stories Sept. 24. “Now everyone thinks her being with him is some cute novel romance.”
E! News has reached out to Kate for comment but hasn’t heard back. However, the mom of eight—who also shares with Jon twins Mady and Cara, 24, as well as sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Leah, Aaden and Joel, 21—previously called cheating allegations between herself and Steve “disgusting, unthinkable, unfathomable.”
“These are people who absolutely love us and want to see us through to the end,” Kate told People of Steve and his family in May 2009, one month before announcing her divorce from Jon. “Of course, both of them travel with us at times and we’ve spent holidays together because, in this situation, your circle grows smaller and smaller.”
In fact, Kate said it’s “very natural to become friends with your manager, your publicist, your security team.”
“They’re the only people you have left,” she shared at the time, adding that tabloids “make up stuff to connect the dots.”
Kate ultimately filed for divorce from Jon in 2009, sharing in a statement that he had “left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children.”
Meanwhile, Jon said in a statement of his own that he was “deeply saddened” that Kate chose to end their marriage.
“In terms of my marriage, it’s no secret that the past six months or so have been very difficult for Kate and me,” he told People at the time. “We are no different than other couples and parents who are facing a crossroads in their marriage.”
