A forthcoming thriller starring Josh Duhamel and Dylan Sprouse is ready to get some attention.
Inaugural Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to writer-director David Lipper’s action film Neglected, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. The movie wrapped production in Mississippi and is eyeing a theatrical release in April after having premiered on the festival circuit.
Neglected centers on Detective Shaw (Duhamel), who faces an unexpected battle for survival during his final day on the job. Shaw must race to solve a series of murders in order to save his son from a serial killer.
Duhamel, Sprouse and Til Schweiger star in the movie that Lipper helmed from a script he co-wrote with Adam G. Levine, with the story credited to Nicholas Ferwerda. Lipper, Robert A. Daly Jr., Mark Canton, Dorothy Canton and Ryan Winterstern serve as producers.
“We’re thrilled to bring Neglected to audiences as part of our commitment to bold, engaging storytelling,” says Inaugural Entertainment CEO Kevin Weisberg. “David Lipper has crafted a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and with stars like Josh Duhamel and Dylan Sprouse, it has all the elements for box office success.”
Adds Lipper, “Partnering with Inaugural Entertainment is the perfect next step for Neglected. Their passion for innovative films aligns with our vision, and I’m excited for viewers to experience this pulse-pounding story.”
Duhamel’s recent credits include the films Not Without Hope, London Calling and Shotgun Wedding and the Netflix series Ransom Canyon. Sprouse has recently appeared in such features as Under Fire, Aftermath and Beautiful Wedding.
