Justin Bieber is on a journey of self-improvement.
The “Love Yourself” singer addressed the recent public scrutiny around his mental and physical health on his surprise new album Swag II, which dropped Sept. 5.
“They try to say I’m out of my mind / But now they singing every line,” Justin sings on the album’s opening track “Speed Demon.” “I got a lot of mountains to climb / Had to leave some beggars behind.”
The 31-year-old went on to seemingly credit wife Hailey Bieber, with whom he shares son Jack Blues Bieber, 12 months, for being a positive influence in his life and helping him to work on himself.
“And there’s something that’s stronger than me / That’s paving me a new lane and giving me an energy,” Justin continues on the track. “And there’s something in the way she made me certain I’m enough / Everyday she put the loving on me / And all the people that be doubting on me / They gave me witness my redemption, now they up on my seat.”
The “Boyfriend” hitmaker also made several other nods to his wife of nearly seven years.
“Ain’t no other love like this / it’s the reason you exist,” he sings of Hailey on the track “I Think You’re Special.” “We don’t gotta try no, baby / I think you’re special.”
He adds later, “I just been a lover ever since I let you in / all of us together, I’m in heaven.”
Their son Jack also got a shoutout on the track “Mother In You,” on which Justin proclaims his absolute devotion to his 12 month old.
“You opened your eyes / that was when I knew, we were changing,” he sings. “There’s a beautiful world that’s waiting for you / I vow in good faith to never let you down / here and now, always, I’ll be around.”
“Your mother in you,” he adds. “My smile, her grace, both of our hearts / oh, child, every day you’re the best part.”
In addition to crediting Hailey and Jack with keeping him grounded amid speculation about their personal lives, Justin has also seemingly been leaning on his faith for guidance in recent months.
“Thanking Jesus for his patience with me this morning,” Justin wrote on X in July. “I can be extremely selfish and impatient yet Jesus always has his arms open toward me.”
Alongside pictures of himself smiling while hiking in the woods, the 31-year-old added an optimistic message to fans at the time, saying, “Let’s have a good day, let’s go outside. Get in nature.”
