Katy Perry’s fans will always love her unconditionally.
It’s why the 40-year-old felt so much gratitude as she wrapped up the Australian leg of her Lifetimes tour June 30, just four days after news of her split from fiancé Orlando Bloom was shared.
During her final show in Adelaide, Katy held heart hands up to the crowd, as seen in a clip shared to social media, as she grew visibly emotional.
“Thank you for always being there for me Australia,” she said, resting her hand on her chest. “It means the world.”
And because the show must always go on, she then gathered herself and proclaimed, “Now let’s sing ‘Firework!’”
While Katy and Orlando—who share 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom—have not yet addressed their split publicly, Katy did reveal how she was keeping busy in Australia.
In a June 27 Instagram carousel, the “Roar” singer showed off the new friend she’d made down under: a smiley quokka.
In the carousel of images, Katy was seen grinning next to the little animal, enjoying time on a boat with friends and treating Daisy Dove to a bike ride around Australia’s Rottnest Island.
She captioned the post, proving she’s smiling through it all, “Mood: Quokka.”
Meanwhile, Orlando—who is also dad to son Flynn Bloom, 14, with ex Miranda Kerr—recently shared a cryptic message to social media, alluding to his current mindset as he navigates the breakup just days after attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding in Italy solo.
Quoting Siddhartha Gautama (a.k.a Buddha), the Pirates of the Caribbean star wrote on his June 30 Instagram Story, “Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most.”
Orlando followed up with a daily encouragement from the late Japanese Buddhist leader Daisaku Ikeda, which read, “The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next day.”
