It’s hard to keep up with all of Kim Kardashian‘s looks.
This time, the 44-year-old stunned fans with a curly blonde bob hairstyle in place of her typical long dark locks. In a new photo for her brand SKIMS’ partnership with fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, the entrepreneur posed in a one-piece scoop-neck swimsuit featuring a Cavalli archival print of a tiger’s face—one of the pieces from the collaboration. But Kim looked nearly unrecognizable when she accessorized the ‘fit with a wide, stretchy red headband holding back what appeared to be a wig with bouncing blonde curls.
This marks the second hair transformation for her family this month, as her daughter North West, 11, swapped in her dark hair for a bright blue hue earlier in June.
As for Kim, she also updated her ‘do back in February, when she got a drastic trim from celebrity hairstylist and longtime friend Chris Appleton.
“Love this new chop on kim, we got 7 inches off her hair!” he captioned a Feb. 2 Instagram post. “(No it’s not a wig before u start lol).”
However, Kim has been keen to experiment with a wig or two. Last August, she tried out a fiery red, which she shared in a photo to her Instagram Story. However, she was back to her usual look in the next picture, proving it wasn’t quite permanent.
For Kim—who also shares kids Saint West, 9, Chicago West, 7, and Psalm West, 6, with ex Kanye West—her hair represents her personality. She’s previously noted that her hairstyle directly correlates with how she’s feeling.
“I’m sassier. I’m more confident as a blonde,” she told Allure in 2022. “As soon as I go back to brunette, I’m a boss.”
And the appearance of her hair is something she’s committed to protecting. In a 2018 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, per People, she made that clear, telling her mom Kris Jenner, “I put it in my will that I have to always have my hair done.”
