Kim Kardashian is keeping up with her cinched couture.
After all, the Kardashians star isn’t afraid to elevate her looks with tiny vintage corsets. And recently, she worked with Mugler to add another waist-slimming garment to her collection.
In her July 23 Instagram post, the 44-year-old sported a black bodysuit from the brand’s July 1998 Fall/Winter Haute Couture collection. Fittingly describing the mesh look as “Mugler Magic,” the corset features a high neckline, a sequin design throughout the top and matching stockings, and boned detailing in the waist to give Kim that fitted look. Though the look is a stunner on its own, she topped it off with a floor-length fur coat.
This isn’t the first time Kim—who shares North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, with ex Kanye West—has pulled from the fashion house’s iconic archives. In fact, the SKIMS founder wore Mugler’s bridal corset from their Spring 1998 collection last October.
Then, five years earlier, she turned heads in the brand’s latex beaded gown at the 2019 Met Gala. And though the dress—which the late Thierry Mugler came out of retirement to design himself—was already form-fitting, Kim took it up a notch and wore a customized corset from Mr. Pearl.
Indeed, those cinched moments were notable. But her waist had the most dramatic transformation at the 2024 Met Gala, when she opted to wear a Maison Margiela floral print dress. Clad in a silver chromatic finish, the outfit tightly hugged her waist—largely due to the lace corset underneath—and slightly flared out into a small train.
And while the dress was one of the most talked about looks of the night, Kim noted it was a process to put on.
“I’m not as uncomfortable as I might look,” Kim told hairstylist Chris Appleton and designer John Galliano while getting ready for the event at the time, shown in a Feb. 13 episode of The Kardashians. “It’s definitely a performance piece. I mean, God bless the Bridgertoncast that has to dress like this every single day. That would be so difficult.
