Kylie Kelce will always put her kids’ suncare over fashion.
Indeed, the former athlete revealed why she doesn’t let her daughters Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, 4 months—whom she shares with husband Jason Kelce—wear bikinis in the summertime.
“I have to be honest, I’m against the bikinis because I don’t want to have to sunscreen that many spots,” Kylie told Today in an Aug. 11 interview. “I’m a big proponent of the long sleeve swimsuits, specifically on the beach.”
Though the 33-year-old prefers for her kids to be covered up from the sun, she’s still prioritizing their SPF routine.
“Even when we have a two-piece with the long sleeve sun shirt, I still have to like re-sunscreen their belly and their back,” she continued. “Modesty is great for kids, but ultimately, I don’t want to have to sunscreen you any more than I already do. It’s torture.”
The Not Gonna Lie podcast host then joked about her daughters’ enthusiasm when they’re at the beach.
“You know how much their swimsuits move while they’re digging in the sand and playing in the waves,” she teased. “It is a hassle and a half.”
And when the hockey coach isn’t keeping her toddlers’ skin safe from the sun, she’s teaching them about self-love. Earlier this year, Kylie revealed that she’s helping her daughters—specifically, her oldest Wyatt—feel confident in their height as they continue to grow.
“I’ll say, ‘How cool is that? You are so tall you can wash your hands without a stool,’” she recalled in her February interview with Today. “And she’ll sort of light up. It really is taking those little teeny, tiny moments and making sure that there’s a positive spin on something that is clearly starting to come to their attention.”
