The sale of the Los Angeles Lakers is getting a big stamp of approval from one of the organization’s biggest stars … with Luka Doncic saying he’s ready to win some championships under new owner Mark Walter.
“The Lakers are an amazing organization,” the 26-year-old Slovenian hooper said Thursday. “I’m looking forward to meeting Mark and excited about the future.”
As we previously reported, the Buss family is giving up their majority stake in the historic franchise … but Jeanie will remain as team governor for years to come, which Doncic was thrilled about.
“I am also grateful to Jeanie and the Buss family for welcoming me to LA, and I’m happy that Jeanie will continue to be involved.”
It’s clear the transaction — the biggest in North American sports history due to a $10 billion valuation — isn’t deterring Doncic from his goals of becoming an NBA champion … ’cause he said he couldn’t wait to raise some banners at Crypto.com Arena.

Walter is a wildly successful businessman with ownership in several other teams like the Dodgers, Sparks, Cadillac F1 and more … so we take it Doncic’s co-sign is music to his ears, especially considering his future with the org. isn’t set in stone just yet.
