Lukas Gage is reflecting on his brush with married life.
The White Lotus actor recentlyspoke out onhis 2023 marriage to celebrity hairstylistChris Appleton, which ended after only seven months. And despite having his Kim Kardashian-officiated wedding as a center piece on The Kardashians, he wouldn’t change a thing.
“No regrets,” Lukas shared on the Sept. 23 episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. “Hashtag no regrets for real.”
Still, it was a difficult time for the 30-year-old, who admitted that he did not “know who that person” was in reference to himself at the time. And much of that has to do with the medication he was taking.
“There is a very crazy way that sometimes we go about prescribing people medication,” Lukas explained. “And I can joke about it and have humility and laugh about it ‘cause it’s funny and it’s a good story.”
But the Road House actor didn’t want to “put the blame on that,” as he genuinely felt that “he was in love and happy and just going with the flow.” Or at least, he thought that he was.
“But there was another part of me that—I didn’t recognize myself,” he confessed. “And everyone around me didn’t recognize who I was.”
And once he got off the medication, he “suddenly had clarity,” although he felt like he just blew up his life.
As for Chris, the hairstylist recently got candid about the short lived relationship as well, sharing that although the marriage didn’t last, it doesn’t mean there wasn’t love between Lukas and himself.
“You can love someone and there not be a forever happy ending,” he told Jay Shetty on the On Purpose podcast in August. “And just because it’s not forever doesn’t mean it didn’t mean something.”
He continued, “Any relationship I’ve ever gone into, I’ve learned so much from it—what’s important to me in terms of boundaries, how I want to be loved, how I want to love—and that’s a beautiful thing. It means you’re always growing and evolving.”
And the 42-year-old also pushed back on those who thought he and Lukas were moving too quickly, considering they were married in a Las Vegas wedding just two months after reports of their romance.
“Moving fast doesn’t always mean you’re reckless,” Chris explained. “Sometimes it means you’re hopeful. Any relationship I’ve ever been into I’ve gone into with an open heart, and I have no regrets about that.”
