Paramount+ has unveiled the season four trailer for Mayor of Kingstown, which sees Jeremy Renner‘s Mike McLusky’s control over Kingstown threatened by new forces as he fights to protect his own.
“The only time you’re going to be safe is when you’re in your cell. Watch everyone without watching. Trust no one unless I tell you to do so. Someone will come after you,” Mike says in the trailer (below) to Taylor Handley’s Kyle, who appears to be heading to prison after the season three finale.
“In season four, Mike’s control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town. Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new Warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past,” the logline reads.
Edie Falco, Lennie James, Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan- Headley and Nishi Munshi round out the cast.
Taylor Sheridan, Hugh Dillon, who co-created the series), executive produce alongside Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Christoph Schrewe, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo and Keith Cox. Erickson also serves as showrunner.
Following season three, Dillon spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and shared why it was important to get a fourth season. “A big driving force is to see the satisfaction with Jeremy Renner. He’s gone out of his way, he made a giant come back and to see him be artistically satisfied,” he said at the time. “The scripts are great, the characters great. And that’s what we want to do. We don’t want to leave any stone unturned. This show is very much rock ‘n’ roll.”
Mayor of Kingstown season four premieres on Paramount+ on Sunday, Oct. 26.
