It turned out there were more red carpet opportunities in store for Adrien Brody and Georgina Chapman.
The couple, who were a fixture during awards season leading up to Brody’s second Best Actor Oscar win two months ago, broke out the finery yet again for the 2025 Met Gala.
Brody’s glamour was in the draping of his Fear of God trousers and black satin T-shirt, topped with a flawless black overcoat accessorized with a glittering floral brooch. His partner of five-plus years once again walked the walk in custom Marchesa, this confection a sculptural duchess satin gown with a rose drape detail along the skirt and an exposed illusion tulle corset. (See all the stunning looks on the Met Gala 2025 red carpet.)
And in addition to subtly coordinating, Brody and Chapman both glowed on the carpet with the help of Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream and Airbush Flawless Finish Powder. (The brand provided all of Chapman’s makeup, and her jewels were by Lorraine Schwartz.)
The May 5 event’s dress code, “Tailored for You,” invited menswear-inspired looks galore in keeping with the Costume Institute exhibit “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” this year’s theme celebrating 18th-century “Black dandy” style.
This is the pair’s fourth Met Gala together, but both go way back with fashion—and Chapman with event chair and Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour in particular.
While Brody has modeled for brands including Louis Vuitton, Bally, Prada, Zegna and Dior over the years—he currently stars in Cos’ spring campaign—Vogue was where Chapman turned to break her silence after divorcing Harvey Weinstein.
Wintour noted in her June 2018 editor’s letter than she had known Chapman since the British designer and Keren Craig launched Marchesa in 2004, and she was “warm, funny, and extremely self-deprecating.”
“I believe that one should not hold a person responsible for the actions of his or her partner,” Wintour wrote. “What Georgina should be receiving is our compassion and understanding…While still in turmoil, she was intent on doing her best for the children she loves so much, and ready for life as an independent woman. She could begin to see a future.”
In 2019, Chapman unexpectedly connected in a romantic fashion with Brody, and they’ve been together ever since.
When the 52-year-old star of The Brutalist accepted his Academy Award for Best Actor in March, 22 years after winning for The Pianist, he said (during his record-long speech), “I share this with my amazing partner Georgina, who has not only reinvigorated my own self-worth, but my sense of value and my values.”
And with so much to celebrate, the party continues.
