Why wait until Saturday for a date night when you have the first Monday in May?
The 2025 Met Gala is taking place at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art May 5. And as stars dressed to the nines, some were also walking the red carpet in pairs of two.
Eight years after Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas attended as near strangers, both invited to accompany designer Ralph Lauren, the married parents returned to their roots, with Priyanka connecting the dots in Olivier Roustein.
Pharrell Williams, meanwhile, proved nothing can’t bring him down, the Louis Vuitton men’s creative director coordinating with his wife Helen Lasichanh in a besuited look he described to E!’s Zuri Hall as “pinstripe pearls.”
And while some standouts like Gigi Hadid, Zendaya and Suki Waterhouse made the annual event a solo act, Simone Biles huddled up with NFL safety husband Jonathan Owens, who took to the field for the first time.
Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade, meanwhile, cleaned up in coordinating Prada, with the actress calling her husband’s look, “super fine, super hot, super tailored.” (See all the red carpet looks here).
While fans certainly pay attention to which designers stars are wearing, they also take note of how the celebrities are wearing their hearts on their sleeves.
Who could forget when 2 Chainz proposed to now-wife Kesha Ward at the 2018 Met Gala, or when Priyanka and Nick kicked off their romantic journey, tying the knot rougly a year and a half after they climbed the steps together in 2017.
The Met Gala is also where several duos made their red carpet debut as a couple. And while some—including Katharine McPhee and David Foster—are still together, others—including Hadid and Zayn Malik, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse and Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez—have since split.
This year, stars followed the dress code “Tailored for You.” As the museum previously noted, the theme focuses on suiting and menswear and aligns with the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, which “presents a cultural and historical examination of Black style from the 18th century to the present through an exploration of the concept of dandyism.”
Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Williams and Anna Wintour are fulfilling the role of co-chairs while LeBron James is an honorary chair.
So whether you love fashion or just love love, keep reading to see photos of celebrity couples at the 2025 Met Gala.
